  "Europe 2020" Strategy and Bulgaria's Economic Growth

  The highlights and targets of "Europe 2020" Strategy are presented and scrutinized here, especially the three dimensions of growth - intelligent, sustainable and encompassing growth and Bulgaria's attitude thereto. The growth factors (sources) in the last two decades are focused, as well as the potential of our country and the efforts to be made to fulfill the strategy and to achieve a long-term economic growth. Some key principal determinants are studied in details, directly related to the set parameters of growth in "Europe 2020" Strategy - manufacturing structures, the role of FDI, of exports, R&D costs, etc.

  Measuring the Equilibrium Sustainability and Efficiency of the Economic Development

  A different systematic structural algorithm is applied, which was developed theoretically and enclosed to this study, instead of the inert extrapolation approach "mutatis mutandis", which is applied in management theory and practice. This algorithm has mathematical and empirical evidences and rapid balancing coherence. It provides for a systematic involvement and targeting the restructuring of industry & distribution in the economic development (including price updates). The parameters of the balance equilibrium of economic decisions are also measured in general and in specific components - in direct and total costs and in economic productivity. The decisions are optimized by boosting the value added in the economic development. The sustainability of this evolution is entirely in the n-dimentional positive space (n is the number of components in the system).

  Сomparison of the Static Time Series of the Bulgarian Trade Turnover between 1986-2006

  Decision is offered to each of the three main aspects of comparison: a simple commodity conformity has been achieved for the period 1986 - 2006 on the grounds of the turnover sector structure according to the Industrial Classification System'86 and the New Customs Tariff'92. The turnover was evaluated in USD for the period 1986 - 1990 based on import and export values in USD for 1991, published by the Bulgarian National Statistics Institute and the reported indexes of their volumes according to comparable prices between 1986- 1991. Deflators are introduced based on the average annual inflation rate of the industrial country (as per IMF classification) to correct the annual indexes of the value scopes of turnover after 1991, supplementing the comparison in the monitored period.

  Social Equilibrium as a Criterion for Sustainable Development of Public Output

  The argument is elucidated, that the economic and political entrepreneurs in contemporary societies represent a value, and in this capacity they are protected by institutions, defining their social role in society. Both subjects personify the nature of the main antagonism in modern societies. In the contemporary public production process they could be both in social equilibrium state and in public conflict situation. An algorithm is provided to specify the equilibrium and the trend for any future social activities of the economic and political entrepreneurs. The theoretical conclusions are proven experimentally by means of an assessment of Bulgaria's economy for the period 1997-2008.
